Sea Newport was founded in late 2021 by Captain Curtis Adam, a born and raised Newporter passionate about sharing the wonders of the City by the Sea. With years of teaching sailing lessons and operating commercial vessels of all sizes behind him, Curtis set out to create a unique boating experience. Something from a local's vantage point, highlighting Newport's vibrant culture, and sharing the place that gave him so much. Curtis wanted to create a business rooted in community, passion, and exceptional hospitality. Rather than chasing trends or volume, the goal is simple: create a casually elegant environment for everyone to enjoy time on the water.

This vision first took shape with Tabasco, a classic picnic style powerboat Curtis located in Sebasco Harbor, Maine. Named as a play on words of her hailport, Tabasco became the foundation of Sea Newport when the business officially launched ahead of the 2022 season. From day one, emphasis was on creating a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike. The first season was pure magic. With many unforgettable days on the water, lasting friendships created both on and off the dock, the spark of inspiration was ignited to continue the growth of Sea Newport.

As the years past, demand grew and Tabasco started working overtime. Curtis was aware expansion was the next step, but must be handled with care to ensure Sea Newport’s high standards of service and attention to detail. A timely opportunity led him to Long Island to view a custom-built Evans Deadrise. The fit was immediate, the mission was clear, and Bonnie & Tide became the natural next chapter for Sea Newport.

Today, Sea Newport operates Tabasco and Bonnie & Tide out of Bowens Wharf. Both vessels offer refined yet approachable cruising experiences. Under Captain Curtis’s direction, every detail from vessel selection to onboard flow is considered with intention. Looking ahead, Sea Newport’s goal is clear and ambitious: to be the gold standard in charter service by delivering the highest quality hospitality, fostering lasting guest relationships, and setting a higher standard for what a day on the water can be.
