you have questions, we have answers

Here are some frequently asked questions about our private boat charters

If you have a question and cannot find the answer below, reach out and we will be happy to help!

How many people can I bring?

M/V Tabasco has a limit of 6 passengers.

M/V Bonnie & Tide has a limit of 24 passengers.

Passengers are defined as any living human, regardless of age. This includes infants.

What should I bring?

The weather on the water can be unpredictable at times. We recommend bringing common beach items such as: sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, water, and a towel if you plan to swim, We also recommend  bringing an extra layer or light jacket just in case it gets chilly. Remember, it is usually chillier on the water than it is on land.

Can I bring my pup?

Absolutely! We love dogs! As long as they are trained and well behaved feel free to bring your pup along! Dogs do not count towards the passenger limit.

Can we swim?

Yes. Bring your bathing suit and a towel because swimming is not just allowed but encouraged! If you would like to jump in but cannot swim, let your crew know and we can provide you a life jacket. Please note that stopping for a swim on shorter cruises will take away from sightseeing time.

Can we drink?

Yes. Anyone over age 21 is allowed to consume alcohol. We ask that you please drink responsibly. Tabasco allows BYOB, Bonnie & Tide does not.

What if I drink too much?

in the instance of a guest being belligerent or a safety hazard, the captain and crew reserve the right to return to the dock and end the cruise. Any cruise concluded due to excessive drunkenness will incur no refund.

Does the boat have a bathroom?

Yes, both M/V Tabasco and Bonnie & Tide are equip with marine heads. We kindly ask that you keep it to #1 only. Only bodily waste can go in the toilet, NOTHING ELSE. There is a trash receptacle in each bathroom for all other items.

Does the crew accept gratuity?

Yes. Our team works hard to create the best possible experience for our guests. While never expected, 20% of the cruise cost is seen as customary.

Can I bring my fishing rod?

No. Sea Newport has a strict no fishing policy. We can recommend fishing charter boats if you are interested in fishing.

What if it rains?

We consider rain "unfavorable conditions", meaning we will not cancel a cruise because of it, but will also not force you out into it. In the event of unfavorable conditions, you are given the choice to continue as scheduled or postpone to the next available and convenient time. If postponing is not an option, we will issue a full refund.  Postponement or cancellation due to weather will only be made on the day of the cruise.

Discretion is given to the captain to decide if conditions are favorable, unfavorable or unsafe. The captain may make the decision to cancel a cruise for unsafe conditions such as lightning, fog, and high wind.
